ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP
Small actions plant powerful seeds of change with Eco Libris
More than 30 million trees are cut down annually and used for the production of books sold in the US alone. Eco-Libris aims to raise awareness of the environmental impact of using virgin paper for the production of books. It provides people and businesses with an affordable and easy way to do something about it—by planting a tree for every book they read, publish, or sell.
Kabbalah Publishing invites you to take action and to balance out both this book and future book purchases with Eco-Libris. Simply visit http://www.ecolibris.net/yehudaberg.asp to participate. For every book you balance out, you will receive a sticker made of recycled paper saying “One tree planted for this book,” which you can display on your book sleeves. For every five trees planted on your behalf, Eco-Libris will plant one more on behalf of Kabbalah Publishing as appreciation of our commitment to the environment.
Founded in 2007, Eco-Libris is a green company that works with book readers, publishers, authors, bookstores, and others in the book industry to make reading more sustainable. To achieve this goal, Eco-Libris has partnered with three highly respected US- and UK-registered non-profit organizations that plant trees in collaboration with local communities in developing countries in Latin America and Africa, where deforestation is a crucial problem. Planting trees in these communities not only helps to fight climate change and conserve soil and water, but also benefits local people, for whom these trees offer many benefits, such as improvement of crops, additional food and income, and an opportunity for a better future.
