The founder of The Kabbalah Centre, Rav Ashlag, explains in his introduction to Ten Luminous Emanations, “Nothing in this world is really ours. Even if we work for something, what we receive as a result is not really a possession… We should see everything in this world as if it came from heaven.”
It’s a powerful concept, isn’t it? Nothing we receive in the world, nothing we are born with for that matter, really belongs to us. We are merely a receiver for all we are...

How do Kabbalists define happiness? Happiness is when we see that the Light is bigger than the challenge. And we all know there is no limit to how bad a situation can be, which is why this state of consciousness is a real mountain to climb. But as along as we keep climbing - by injecting the thought, “I’m sure the good is here” – even the worst of the worst can change. There is a story in the Zohar about a man sitting on a mountainside, about to be bitten by a snake, when from out of nowhere another snake appears and eats the first snake. The man gets up and walks away, and a few moments later, the cliff he was sitting on cracks and off the mountainside. When asked his secret for attracting miracles, he answers, “I never go to sleep without forgiving anyone hurt me during the day. And I certainly never go to sleep without feeling gratitude for being able to learn from them.” When we choose look at every painful situation as an opportunity to learn, we can experience unlimited miracles. The contract we made with God in the Endless world was that we could only receive Light if we are the cause of revealing Light, if we are the cause of creating a better reality. This means that no matter how bad the situation is, we have the power to make it better. Right now.
